welcome to edge|emulation!

A new up and coming ROM site that does things a bit differently, and hopefully a bit better, than what you're used to. Using GoodMerged 7zip sets, you get more ROMs for your time spent here. And in a nice clean layout, you can find what you want faster, so you can get to playing your favorite classics faster.

Question for you all.

Do you prefer having the 7z of every hack and dump inside the zip, or would you prefer a single file inside the ZIP that has the known-good dump? There are different schools of thought here - a single file inside the ZIP makes it easier to load in an emulator, where as the 7z has every known copy and hack inside (what we do currently). I'm afraid we can't package every single hack and dump individually, that's a lot of overhead. Let me know your thoughts on our Facebook.

Forums shut down.

Spam has overtaken the board, despite ReCAPTCHA being enabled on new registrations.

The site is long due for an overhaul. Know lots of fancy javascript? How about mobile site development? Give me a holler. sherl0k@edgeemu.net

Neo-Geo CD and 3DO games gettin' the boot soon.

Need to make room for MAME updates, which are much more popular. Get them while they're still here, I couldn't tell you when I plan on making them disappear.

MAME .145 coming in.

We're working on getting the latest version of MAME in, sit tight.

There has been a change to the CHD format. This means all the current CHDs pre-.145 won't work with MAME .145 without running some console command to convert them. This is annoying. I'm still trying to figure out how to add more games without breaking the site, we're almost out of disk space and there's no room left in the server to add another drive. This means I have to remove a drive that's full of ROMs, have the drive replaced with one bigger, and then re-add everything. It's a time-consuming process and I don't think I can get on-hand help to do it for me. It'll be done though, I assure you. The global harddrive shortage doesn't help my pockets either.
